I Am Back!

Hello! I am back! After a few months of settling into my new dorm room at college I am back at it again blogging and promoting my etsy site! I have a few pictures! The first one is of my nieces and me. They got baptized this summer through our church. I was so proud of them! They did wonderful! Also, I have a picture of my nephews. This is a great picture because I got them all to look at the camera! Also this summer I took a trip to New York! With my aunts and cousins! We had so much fun. I was able to see so much. We went and ate lunch in Central Park, I saw Legally Blonde on Broadway, we saw the statue of liberty, went to a Yankees game and we stayed right in Time Square! I think that is it for now. Halloween is coming up so I will have more pictures from my Huckleberry Railroad visit and my Cedar Point family trip!

The Newest Addition!

Welcome to the family Olivia Marie! She arrived Monday August 18th at 6:02 in the evening and she weighs 8 lbs. 13 oz. and is 21 inches long! Congrats Jeff and April! When we all came to visit with her we all fell in love with her plump little body and her animated faces. She is just the cutest baby and I can not wait until I can babysit!

Swimming With The Boys

Last week my boyfriend and I were looking for something to do. It was rainy outside and there was no good movies out so we decide to try this new recreation center that opened not to far from our house. They have a work out room, a big pool and jungle-jim for kids to play in. So we took my nephews and we went swimming in the lazy river and the kids play structure. It was really fun. All the boys had a blast!

Tell me a little about yourself
I'm 32 years old and I live in Rochester, NY. I'm a single mom to a fabulous little boy. During the day, I'm a purchasing coordinator for a manufacturing company. In the evening, I'm my own boss! Besides making jewelry, my other favorite past-times are reading, and karate.

How long have you been creating jewelry?
I've been creating jewelry for almost two years. It seems like I've been creating so much longer! I cant imagine how I could have gone so long without this wonderful hobby.
What got you started creating?
I actually got started just on a whim! I've always like the idea of crafts and creating things, but I didn't really know what I wanted to do. My parents and grandparents have all been into some form of craft or art, so I thought I must have it in me too! I love jewelry, and I initially thought it'd be a fun hobby, and I could give my creations away as gifts. More jewelry for me too. ;) Since then I've been obsessed!

How long have you been on Etsy?
I signed up on Etsy back in November 2006 but I didn't start listing and selling until January 2007. It's such a wonderful community. Not only am I a seller, I'm also a buyer!

What got you started on Etsy?
I tried selling on Ebay and didn't have any luck. Plus the fees are outrageous! I heard about Etsy from other jewelry sellers. The lower fees and the longer listing time is what initially attracted me. It's a wonderful user-friendly site!
Do you sell your jewelry anywhere else?
At this time, I pretty much just sell on Etsy. I occasionally list items on Craigslist, Myspace and Facebook, but I always direct back to Etsy. Eventually I'd like to sell at craft shows. Perhaps someday, I'll start up my own website.

What inspires you?
My family and friends inspire me. They've always been very supportive and excited to see my new creations. Fashion is also an inspiration. I like the idea of making jewelry for every style and occasion. Nature is another big one. I love earth tones and anything that makes me think of nature and the changing seasons.
What are your favorite materials to work with?
Why?Since I love the natural look, I adore working with natural material. Turquoise, jade and agates are wonderful. It's so fun to mix stones with man-made material. Throw in wire and the possibilities are endless!

What are your goals or hopes for the next year?
My goals and hopes for the next year is to learn more jewelry techniques. I'd love to try more wire wrapping, and eventually chain maille. I'm always up for a challenge!

Dorm Time!

This is my bedding for this fall at Western! My colors are pink, brown, and lime green. I really wanted to get a purple bed set, however it was impossible to find. So I went with this set and I really really like it alot now! My grandma is going to wash everything, all my sheets and towels so it seems like her house! Because it smells so goooooood.
These are my bath towels. I really like how they match my bed set.

Graduation Time!

This was our last day of school. Each senior gets to dress in the cap and gown and take one last lap around the school. Everyone stands out and claps for us. It was a great time to say final good-byes to our teachers and friends. This was really something I had been look forward to for four years! It was worth the wait! I loved it! At the end my family waited and took pictures. Then we all went out to dinner together! Then that was it, it was the beginning of the rest of my life!

I have some more pictures from Prom! When I think back on that day just a few weeks later...I want to go back!!! I was sooooo much fun! It was everything and more I thought it was going to be! I had so much fun with my boyfriend and good friends Jordan and Megan! I will remember this night for ever!
